Sunday at the Takoma Park (MD) Street Festival, my tent-sharer author friend David Levy (Revolt of the Animals) was unable to be there, but instead I shared with a new author friend, Lynne Cherry (www.lynnecherry.com), best-selling children’s author, illustrator, and filmmaker. Her most famous book, The Great Kapok Tree, has sold a million copies worldwide.
Gradually, we became acquainted as she sold her books “hand over fist” and handed out cards for her “Young Voices for the Planet” (www.youngvoicesonclimatechange.com) film series for three hours. She’s a lovely, exuberant, talented person, and when she left, there was a void. She was a very special booth-mate!
