On Saturday, October first, we peddled our wares at the Hyattsville (MD) Elementary School PTA Zombie Run. The weather was wet, but that didn’t stop the intrepid racers as they zigged and zagged up and down the hills of  town in pursuit of victory (and fun). The first-time event was declared a huge success in spite of bad weather.


  • 7:30AM – 9:00AM – Race Day Registration
  • 8:00AM – 1K Family Fun Run
  • 8:45AM– 1M Kids’ Challenge
  • 9:30AM – 5K Zombie Run
  • 10:30AM – Awards Ceremony
  • 11:00AM– Live Music

The after party was pretty much of a washout, despite a great blues band (The Roustabouts), Vigilante Coffee, Calvert Brewing Company Pale Ale and Cream Ale, and gourmet BBQ from the Urban Bumpkin truck. People drifted away to their dry cars and homes to escape the continuing rain.

I Bike, I Vote

people, if you’re a person. We enjoyed telling our stories to passersby, many of whom took one home with them. There was nearly equal interest in the three titles with Canoedling in Cleveland edging out the other two.
